Animation lead with seventeen years of experience in video game development across seven released titles. My work combines a passion for the art and creativity of animation with a deep understanding of technical implementation. I specialise in building animation features that integrate seamlessly into a game's creative vision, working with art, design, and engineering to bring characters, systems and moments to life.

  • Core Feature Development and Animation System Creation: Conception, Implementation and Finalizing of AAA Gameplay systems in collaboration with Design, Engineering and Direction.

  • Team Growth and Leadership; Staffing, Scheduling, Team-building and Appraisals. Growing healthy, inspired teams that enjoy working together.

  • Animation Direction; Working with Realization, Game and Animation Directors to establish and deliver a core vision across multiple titles.

  • Animation Delivery: Full-Body Keyframe and Motion Capture Animation, Artistic Direction, Data-editing and oversight of work across multiple features.

  • Motion Capture: Scheduling, Talent Scouting, Shotlists and On-set Direction.

  • Editor/Engine Implementation; Creation of complex animation systems across multiple proprietary engines. Also delivered using Unity, and Unreal.

  • Logic State-machines: Conceptualization and Implementation of state machines. Close collaboration with AI, Gameplay and Engine Coders.

  • Pre-visualisation: Conceptual Animation, Proof-of-concepts and Animation Art Benchmarks.

  • Outsource Management: Studio Liaison, Scheduling, Delivery Reviews and Animation Direction.

  • Pipeline Development: Working in collaboration with Technical Animation and Technical Art departments to deliver flexible, expandable pipelines. Includes; Tools and Plugins, Facial Setup, Rigging, Skinning, Mocap Actor transfer, Exporting.

  • Project Scheduling: Budgeting, Reporting and Strategic Planning. Making sure our features and content deliver the highest quality within production constraints.

  • Co-development: Coordination of work between multiple co-development studios. Overseas team Management, Work Assignments, Synced Content Delivery.

  • Worldwide Development: Working in close collaboration and co-development with studios spanning the globe, including; Barcelona, Montreal, Toronto, Mumbai, Malmo, North Carolina, Bucharest and the UK
